Private Island Adventures, Rainforest Swimming Holes & Wildlife Cruises
19ft Sportsman | Private Charter | Max 4 Guests | 4WD Vehicle | Lunch & Drinks Included

A private day exploring secluded tropical islands, crystal-clear waters and hidden rainforest swimming holes across Tropical North Queensland.

Your Private Tropical Adventure

Escape on a private tropical island day trip from Cairns or Port Douglas, exploring some of Tropical North Queensland’s most secluded islands, crystal-clear waters and fringing coral reefs. These trips are ideal for couples, small groups, and travellers wanting to experience the beauty of the tropics without the crowds.

Spend the day swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on remote tropical islands, or explore hidden rainforest waterfalls and pristine swimming holes known only to locals. With years of experience exploring the region, Rory knows the best island locations and rainforest swimming holes across the Tropical North, allowing each trip to be tailored to the conditions and what guests would like to experience.

On windy days when island travel isn’t ideal, the trip can easily shift inland to explore rainforest waterfalls and swimming holes, or combine a wildlife river cruise with a rainforest waterfall visit — ensuring a fantastic day regardless of weather.

Departing from Cairns or Port Douglas, these exclusive trips run aboard our 6m centre console vessel Tropic Star and are tailored for up to 4 guests.

Weather Flexible Adventure

One of the great advantages of a private charter is flexibility.

If conditions are calm, we spend the day exploring tropical islands, coral reefs and secluded beaches.

If winds are too strong for island travel, we offer a fantastic alternative rainforest adventure.

Guests can choose between:

Full Day Waterfall & Rainforest Swimming Hole Tour

Visit some of Tropical North Queensland’s most beautiful rainforest waterfalls and swimming holes, with time to relax, swim and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the rainforest.

Half Day Wildlife River Cruise + Half Day Waterfall Tour

Begin the day exploring quiet mangrove-lined rivers, spotting saltwater crocodiles, birdlife and other wildlife from the boat.

Afterwards we visit a pristine rainforest waterfall or swimming hole to cool off and enjoy lunch.

This flexible approach ensures that your day is always memorable regardless of weather conditions.

A Private Island Experience

All of our island trips are fully private charters, allowing guests to enjoy the beach and surrounding islands at their own pace without crowds or other tour groups.

Many of the islands we visit are secluded and rarely visited, offering a relaxed and natural environment. Naturists and guests seeking a clothing-optional beach experience are welcome on private island charters, making these trips ideal for those looking to enjoy the tropics in complete privacy.

What to Bring

Best Times to Visit

Trips operate year-round, with September to April generally bringing the lightest winds and calmest conditions for exploring the islands.

At any time of year, there are always beautiful rainforest waterfalls and swimming holes to visit, and if conditions are better suited to exploring inland, the day can easily shift to discovering some of the region’s most spectacular rainforest locations.

Wildlife viewing in the rivers is excellent throughout the year, with estuarine crocodiles and tropical birdlife commonly seen in the cooler months from April to September.
