Argo – Your Mothership Base
Argo is your floating base for the week — a spacious, self-sufficient mothership fitted out for comfort on extended remote-water expeditions. Onboard you’ll find a spacious air-conditioned saloon with three lounge booths, formal dining for 15, and a 50″ smart TV with surround sound. Alcohol can be pre-ordered ahead of your trip or purchased onboard. Accommodation includes four midships guest cabins (two double-bed ensuites, two family-style) plus an aft cabin with bunks — all made up with fresh linen and basic toiletries provided. Two full washers and dryers keep gear fresh with daily laundry, and Argo is fully self-sufficient for up to 21 days at sea. The spacious aft deck is set up for BBQ lunches and dinners, with an onboard chef and hostess taking care of meals throughout your stay.
Four purpose-built 5.5m Carbine centre console guide boats run the fishing side, fitted with Garmin electric motors and Raptor shallow-water anchor spikes, stored and deployed via onboard crane — genuine shallow-draft flats boats run by the best guides in the Cape, at a 2 anglers : 1 guide ratio.
More Than Just Fishing
Argo isn’t just for the anglers in the group. Snorkelling and diving are available for guests wanting to explore beyond the flats, and trips can be fully tailored for groups after a mix of activities. With a flexible itinerary, non-fishing guests are just as well looked after as those chasing fish all day.
Torres Strait Island Culture & Experiences
Beyond the fishing, a trip through the Torres Strait is a chance to experience one of Australia’s most unique regions. Island stopovers can be built into your itinerary, offering a glimpse into Torres Strait Islander culture, history and island life — a side of Cape York most visitors never get close to. Ask us about incorporating a cultural tour or island visit into your trip.
