Four full days targeting barramundi in remote Gulf country with accommodation, meals and private guiding included — experience one of the most productive barramundi fisheries in Australia from a comfortable base in Karumba on the edge of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Based in Karumba, this fully guided multi-day package explores classic Gulf barramundi habitat including tidal creeks, mangrove systems and river mouths. The region is widely regarded as offering some of the best barramundi fishing in Australia, with consistent opportunities to target quality fish across changing tides and conditions.

Trips include four full days of guided fishing aboard our Sportsman and Barra Tracker guide boats, both fitted with LiveScope sonar technology to help locate fish and adapt daily strategies throughout the trip. Groups of up to five anglers can be accommodated across both vessels.

Guests can either fly into Normanton or travel across with the guide by vehicle from the east coast. Transfers between Normanton and Karumba are included. Flights are not included.

Accommodation is based in comfortable local lodging close to the boat ramp for efficient early starts and flexible afternoon sessions. Evenings are relaxed and social, with meals typically enjoyed at the local pub or nearby venues before preparing for the next day on the water.

Karumba is also known for its atmosphere as much as its fishing. Each day finishes with the Gulf’s famous sunsets over the water — a classic part of the experience of spending time in this remote northern fishery.
