The Experience
Your adventure begins in Dampier, Western Australia, where guests board the luxury expedition vessel Ocean Dream.
After departing Dampier, the vessel travels overnight to the Montebello Islands, positioning anglers in new areas each day to maximise fishing opportunities.
Each day guests explore remote flats, reef edges and beaches with experienced guides, targeting iconic species in one of Australia’s most spectacular environments.
With only seven anglers per trip, these expeditions offer a highly personalised and exclusive experience.
The Fishing
The Montebello Islands offer exceptional walk-and-wade flats fishing in clear, shallow water.
Primary target species include:
• Permit (Blochii)
• Blue Bastards
• Giant Trevally (GTs)
Additional flats species regularly encountered include:
• Golden Trevally
• Queenfish
• Spangled Emperor
• Bluebone (Tuskfish)
• Brassy Trevally
• Swallowtail Dart
When conditions allow, anglers may also explore nearby reef and bluewater zones targeting species such as Sailfish, Chinaman Fish and large Grouper.
Ocean Dream – Luxury in a Remote Environment
The 86ft Ocean Dream is a purpose-built expedition vessel designed for remote Australian waters.
Accommodating just seven anglers, the vessel provides exceptional comfort while exploring some of the most isolated fisheries in the country.

Travel Details
Guests board Ocean Dream in Dampier, Western Australia.
Flights operate between Perth and Karratha, approximately $400 AUD each way.
We recommend arriving in Karratha the day before departure and staying overnight.

Complimentary transfers are provided between Karratha and Dampier.
